Goals
Goal Inventory
In order to better understand the various priorities of the larger jurisdictions in the metro area and to design the EcoMethod to measure these potentials as they relate to the construction process, EcoLogistics has surveyed lists of goals from the websites of the Governor, Mayor Tom Potter, Metro Council, economic development departments at Clack. CO., Mult. Co., State of OR; PDC, Sustainability departments at COP, Clack. Co, Mult. Co., ODOT; and TriMet.
In every case, The Sponsoring Partner has goals and values that guide and define its mission. We believe that these goals should also have an influence over the strategy of funding specific opportunities within the construction process. It is important that we inventory and understand these goals and values up front, so that we can recognize opportunities in the Project and so that we can prioritize and maximize the positive contributions that the Project can make toward these goals and values.
As you would expect, since all of these organizations have a similar population and basic needs to consider, the goals can be condensed into a list of 18 common goals for our use. EcoLogistics thinks about these goals in light of their potential to be enhanced by the construction process or protected from the construction process.
Tangible / Prescient Goals: These are the portion of the goals or mission that can be easily measured and has significant or multiple opportunities inherent in the construction process. The Prescient Goals can further be defined by their connection to three categories: Natural Opportunities, Utility and Energy Opportunities, Human Opportunities.
Guiding Goals: These are the portion of the goals or mission that are not easily measured but are important to guide our moral compass. Examples might be promoting freedom or equality.
